Took a hike on a trail that I haven’t been on before. It’s supposed to be a snowmobile trail but it needs a bit of work before any snowmobile goes merrily along this coming winter. Starts out under hemlock trees and then ends up going through nice stands of beech, birch, and maple. I went as far as the lake and sat on a rock and watched a loon fishing out in the lake. I was surprised to see the loon, I figured they’d all been on their way down south by now. Trail had a few wet mucky muddy sections. Lots of leaves on the ground which makes it tough to see the rocks and roots hiding underneath.

A little bit of blowdown
