Unlike the most other lakes in the Uintas, Allsop Lake sits alone in a rugged alpine cirque at the top of the Right Fork of the East Fork Bear River drainage. Despite Allsop being the only lake in the basin, it is still a fantastic hike for backpackers and fisherman alike. Many consider this area of the north slope to be the most beautiful of the entire Uinta Mountain Range, although in recent years, cattle grazing around Allsop Lake has made a significant impact on the wilderness experience.
