ACR PLB-375 battery replacement

I purchased this unit in 2015 and it has a Sept 2020 battery expiration date. No where in the literature that came with the unit are any locations for ACR's "battery replacement centers" nor could I find that info on their web site. Battery replacement seems to me to be a very basic maintenance item which you absolutely know you will need to do at some point. I eventually received a response from their customer service to send it to their FL office-the address for which isn't on any of the literature either. A pretty frustrating experience and not much of an incentive to purchase any more of their products.

Anyone changed out the battery themselves? It's not like it is still under any warranty.

A little follow-up. I decided to send this unit back to ACR. A bit short of 5 weeks and $190, and I'm good until 3/2027. Something to consider when purchasing an PLB.

Thanks for the research John. I've already been considering moving away from my ACR and this seals the deal I think. I've got an overdue battery replacement as well. The fact that you can't prepare the battery yourself effectively raises the price by 50%
