Curious....How did the Tundra perform? MPG? Enough power....I struggle with determining what the right truck might be. I have used a FWC with only a one ton. I think that might be overkill....Thanks for any thoughts.
The Needles is awesome. If you would like to car camp, you could hike until your legs fall off...there are loops everywhere. The NPS campground is not bad or you could stay free out along the Lockhart Basin Road. Right before the entrance to the park...
do you have 4wheel drive? I would...
Not sure if this answers your questions...but I have hiked a few times from the river and returned...I walked up from the cabin along the shore and then up to the ruin. I reversed coarse...Look around the river. There are some other ruins too:)
Looks like it was a two night trip...Doable as a one nighter? Trying to figure out how long of float it would be from dark canyon to hite, miles and hours...maybe I missed it in your post. Thanks
The Pack Raft thing opens up so many more options and canyons. Kind of reminds me when I got into canyoneering...boy, there is a lot out there...
Looks like you found the goods:) great report...thank you
Which one should I buy? Cropped frame vs. Full Frame? I'm at a loss...I currently own a dx model, so I am thinking of staying with the 7200. But, my neighbor has a 750. Sweet camera...Thoughts? Ideas? Things that I should think about?
Any advice is much appreciated.
Mike
Great question...Don't really have one. But, I do like it when I am driving down a dirt road or hiking a dirt trail in the deserts of Utah, Arizona, or Nevada and wondering "what the hell is out here?" Then, after a short time or a few miles--it appears. A slot canyon, a desert spring, a rock...
When do you plan on going? I have been there 3 times...The winter is nice...The two trips in February were different than the trip in April. Not sure what your experience is...take a shovel and some sand tracks...But, i could see some people getting totally spooked out there...you are out...
I think I will be in the St. George area for a few days. Anyone know of some good top rope routes for my daughter? My days of leading are past...I have researched Snow Canyon but can't seem to find any. Maybe that's the case...In other areas? She can climb 5.4-5.8...Thanks much
nice trip...reminds me of the cow trapped down in Peekaboo...Someone has to make a dark comedy, Sundance movie about cows and canyoneering...thanks for the report.
