My apologies for lack of clarity.
You said exactly what I couldn’t quite put into words:
“I don’t sit in one place very long backpacking”
All my backpacking is solo now and I don’t fish or peak bag, so hanging around camp, especially in the middle of the day is not my favorite thing.

Anyone a Backpacking Light Unlimited member?
It’s about $200 a year and that gets you access to all their content & courses.
Im curious if anyone has experience with the quality of their content.
Thanks!
So Im planning on doing Priord this year (2023). I’m curious to know about going up and over from Priord. I’m guessing you come down near Helen? Do you still have the gpx file and willing to share?
I’m intrigued by this possibility. Anything else you can share?
Thanks!
I’ve come back a few times anxiously waiting to see what year it was . . . I’ll go with ‘84.
Back in the day we didn’t call them jorts, they were “cut offs”, (at least in the Midwest)
which in my opinion is a way cooler name. Jorts just sounds too millennial for my taste.;)
Will - I couldn't help but reply. From the top of Red Knob down to the WFBF trail, those views to Dead Horse Lake I thought were the most exquisite in all of the Uintas and my absolute favorite.
1. Coyote Gulch with sons in law
2. Sawtooths, what I'm calling the Red Fish Lake Loop
3. Uintas = EFBF - Bald Mountain - Red Castle - Highline - Granddaddy Basin
I agree with @Jackson - more competition in this space is needed.
I love my Garmin inReach mini, but there are plenty of areas it could be improved.
Just briefly looking at their site, I couldn't tell if there's any new innovation or lowered
cost that the SatPaq is bringing to the table.
I’ll take your Energy Shots & raise you one.... F Bombs
Chocolate & Macadamia. Might be the most delicious & nutritious thing
you eat on your next trip. They’re 200+ calories an ounce.
Ive recommended them to others who didn’t care for them, mostly
because of their texture. I think...
It's kinda been bugging me all year that I didn't really do the entire thing.
It's like saying I've run a marathon but I started at mile 9. So, I'm itching
to clear my mind.
I went to your site today seeing if you had any info on the eastern section,
didn't find any. If you have any on that...
Dates are not set yet but somewhere in the last week of July to Mid August. I did it last week of
August last year and that was nearly perfect.
I'd like to do it in 8 days, but probably 9, which is roughly 11-12 mile days.
Last year my wife and I did the HIghline from Leidy Peak.
This year I'm making a run at the whole thing, McKee Draw to Hayden Peak TH.
It's my understanding that water east of Leidy Peak is hard to come by.
Does anyone have first hand experience or reliable source on where to find
water...
Interesting topic. I usually backpack in groups and musical tastes vary so I usually play a non offensive comedian. Having a shared laugh before the trail, in my experience, builds a camaraderie that lasts the entire trip. Often times certain jokes will be referred to all trip long.
As for my...
