Sawtooth Mountains ........... Get ready for summer

Beautiful! I haven’t been to the Sawtooths and hadn’t even heard of it until seeing reports here on BCP. How does it compare to the Winds or Tetons in terms of scenery, difficulty, trails, etc?

    2024 CO Plateau conditions

Thanks for this info, @fossana. I've been checking weather and road conditions in anticipation of our Coyote Gulch trip in about a week, and your details are helpful. I know things can change quickly, but would you guess that an AWD SUV will be ok on the washboarding as far as Red Well or...

    A new tent

Did you go up the canyon there (or try)? We'll be doing that trip in the fall, and I've read about this spot and want to get more info about whether it's do-able for us.

Wonderful eclipse photos - keep 'em coming! I didn't get good pics (didn't try) and am thoroughly enjoying the ones that others took. Experiencing it was really thrilling! As we watched, we all noticed the bright red dot along the bottom and were trying to figure out what it was. Someone more...

Is there a gauge further downstream? If not, any guesses on how much higher the river will be near Coyote Gulch? We're heading there in 3 weeks and hoping to go up to Stevens Arch and Canyon.

    Help with a Winds itinerary

I know you've gotten lots of great advice about routes other than Titcomb, but in case you're still considering Knapsack, I wanted to let you know I did it (going west to east) and I'm not super strong, so if I could do it you probably could, too. We had a great trip - here's my report in case...

    To Do in 2024

11 years ago, my husband thought that would be the case for me. But I loved it and we've been doing as much as we can ever since. You never know!

Hello, fellow Easterner! Hope you have a great time with all these adventures. Where will you be camping at the bottom of GC? We have loved being down there. Hopefully you'll get to see lots of cacti blooms in May! I hope your wife will enjoy the trip. Training with a loaded pack ahead of time...

Colorado got all the snow that we haven't gotten in Michigan! Daffodils are already blooming here - way earlier than usual.

    We Were Almost Bones…

What an experience - thank goodness you noticed that "shimmer" and were able to get water there. Makes me wonder how many stories there might have been over the years from people who didn't find water...

Escalante area 4-5 night backpack trip suggestions in late September. Loop if possible. Limit technical sections if any. Thanks!

I would love to see that, @John Morrow. Silver Falls/Choprock is on our list for the future, and your info for extending LDH/Wolverine was really helpful to us two years ago. :)

Escalante area 4-5 night backpack trip suggestions in late September. Loop if possible. Limit technical sections if any. Thanks!

We've done two wonderful Escalante trips that you might want to consider, although we were there in the spring and I don't know what conditions are like in September: 1) Boulder Mail Trail to Escalante River - Many people go from the BMT down Death Hollow to the Escalante, and you might be able...

I was glad to zoom for the Steve Allen one (thank you for having provided info about that) and am interested in the Returning Rapids one. Do you know if there will be a zoom option for this?
