Okay, I guess this isn't as easy as I thought.
Hint: Several BCP members have been within a few hundred feet of this spot, and/or written trip reports about it within the past six months.
@DrNed , perhaps this isn't the case anymore, but when we were there in 2017, the BLM station in Escalante provided WAG bags to us when we got our overnight permit.
@wsp_scott is correct! Grayson Highlands in southwestern Virginia has beautiful open scenery, and wild ponies (though they are more used to people than they probably should be).
If you don't get a permit for the Enchantments, I would highly recommend going to another location in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. Try a backpacking trip to Marmot Lake, Jade Lake and Pea Soup Lake (by Mt. Daniel). I can easily be done in two nights, if you wish, or more if you prefer -- there...
You are correct! Yeah, Bob's Hill doesn't get much attention around here, but I think it has better views than any of the overlooks in Catoctin.
