As a person who is starting to visit this area more and befriend other hikers (and forum users) familiar with it, and who was really looking forward to recreating safely and carefully in these areas, this makes me very sad.
Did basically the exact trip you described here, except from Red Well. I found this hike very pleasant, even though you don't slingshot directly into CG, I found the development of the canyon from broad sandy wash to gorgeous fluted slick rock to be engaging, not boring, especially for a first...
What a find! I have a similar story from a viewpoint adjacent to Virginia Park(on the south side) in the Needles. Made it all the way back to our camp in Chesler Park before realizing it was left, and a party member ran all the way back to retrieve.

Really can't go wrong here. 4 days is tight to really enjoy a Titcomb trip, so you won't have a ton of options if you choose that. Elbow, The Jean Lakes, Seneca, all good options. You will have lots of company at Island. My 2c is your time is better spent with the whole week in the Winds so you...
Awesome awesome trip. Thank you for sharing!
Was the AM Dosing issue that Part A was hard to squeeze? I had major issues this summer with dosing Part A that persisted regardless of batch or bottle. Never had it happen before. Very strange.
The whole trip was around 28 miles and 12000' of gain total(if you believe strava/Caltopo), much off trail. Some of the off trail travel was slow progress, YMMV. We made 4.2 miles on Day 2 in 6 hours and earned every step. [emoji43] We saw no one, but lots of fresh horse sign on the trails when...
I have an eCamper, which is a bolted on canvas pop up for the Honda Element, so a little specific. But as far as rooftop tents go, it's extremely durable, weather proof, no issues with condensation or wind, including a week at Burning Man straight out of the shop, where I left it open for two...
I think the logo should be a silhouette of someone kicking over a cairn.
In all seriousness, I prefer dark mode. And thanks for the work you do with the site.

Makes me feel a little better about bailing from it. Didn't seem like a good idea to go over Indian and Blaurock in a multiday sub 40 degree rain forecast [emoji43][emoji94].

Just out from an attempt on this a week ago. Would heed @Bob and @fossana, bad weather stranded us on the West side well north of easier Divide crossings to our car at Trail Lake. Had to exit Elkhart and eat an expensive shuttle to Bruce rather than attempt Blaurock/Bonney in cold rain/snow...
Fossana has way more SA experience than me. My opinion is mostly heresy, and I wear Pioneer X Ultras as Altras hurt my feet.

The book on Altras is that they are less grippy and let in way more sand than Sportivas. I would want something really tight and edgy for an SA route, personally.
