    Backcountry bathrooms

In RMNP, not all trails have a privy and not all privies are as nice as the ones in the Boulderfield below Longs Peak. Many are holes in the ground with a simple seat over the top. Some are not so well concealed either :):). This one up near the campsite by Ypsilon Lake is pretty much just out...

    Backcountry bathrooms

Having used the old toilets they had up there prior to these newer ones, I can say it's a massive difference. Its the first privy I've ever used that you had to 5 step "flush" that far in the back country :roflmao:. RMNP put those there and at the junction with Chasm lake. Very nice!

    Swapping insoles

I ended up going with the blue ones for my Salomons. I was tempted to go with the trailblazers but they seemed to get a bit tight in the toe box for me. I just got back from an overnight and summit climb with the blue and have to say a huge improvement for my feet from the insoles that came with...

Why do you do this ?

I backpack because of the places you can go... the things you can see. So many reason to get out there that for me, it is hard to pick one real reason why I do it. I can at least say I do not do it to post to snapchat, instagram, twit about it or FB it :rolleyes:... or whatever the...

Tires For Older Truck (Goodyear Wrangler A/T Adventure?)

I've tried a few different brands on my Jeep Wrangler (Goodyears -- err no, Mickey Thompson -- mine wore out too quick for my liking, etc.). Currently I run Hancook Dynapro ATM RF10 because I wanted something good on pavement and off-road. I do not go off-road a ton but some places here in CO I...

This is so very true on many levels.

    Swapping insoles

Have you tried their new trailblazer ones? I was looking between though and I think the green ones. Have heard the trailblazer ones can make your toe box a bit tight though.

    Hiking attire

I think it depends on what type of hike and whether its overnight, long distance, etc. However overall as of late since I seem to be off in the brush, I do not wear shorts as much. I do occasionally have some convertible hiking pants I can zip off the lower portion though. I have several...

    Swapping insoles

I love my Salomon hiking boots but I think the insoles are toast and I can feel it alot more after a day of hiking. What insoles have you had good luck in swapping into your hiking boots?

    Under Armour

Gotta agree... in summer its pretty much hanes and champion t-shirts. Low cost and work just fine and like Wanderlust said no glaring logos.

    Animal Danger

I have yet to go solo into grizzly country and honestly I think I prefer to go with others there. Otherwise I prefer solo trips and nothing I have seen so far would change my mind. I do think that alot of this can be chalked up to both higher numbers of people getting outdoors (and many in my...
