My friends and I are planning on going to Death Hollow in June. We will get to the trailhead late at night camp there, and then hike in the next morning. We plan on spending two nights in Death Hollow. Do you guys recommend doing Death Hollow via a round trip or parking a car at a different exit...

Oh I'm not quite sure. We did a round trip from Hurricane Wash (which I enjoyed). I believe crack in the wall starts from the Fortymile Ridge Trailhead, but I don't if the road dead ends there.

The black lagoon is stagnant, we jumped and got right out. Down from the lagoon, a few miles, is a waterfall. You can't swim in it. But when we were there it was the perfect amount to lay in half in the water half out and stayed perfect warm.

I was there the last weekend in May last year, and the weather was perfect. Hot in the dessert and warm in the gulch. I wished I had brought a sweatshirt for sleeping, but I wasn't miserably cold. Of course, weather can be different each year.

Haha, I know how to and do quite often. I also love to sleep in a hammock. Both are great.

Are there spots to hang a hammock instead of bringing a tent on this trail?

Does anyone have any recommendations for a one (or two) night backpacking trip with swimming and maybe no more than seven hours from Salt Lake City? I've done Coyote Gulch, Death Hollow, Narrows and Kolob's Arch. We'll be doing Paria later this year. Looking for spot for a late June trip.
