I’ve done this once. Never cared to repeat it. I’ve spent a lot of time looking at crossings to do 4 district trips starting at island in the sky and either looping back or ending in Needles. Shoot me an email if you have questions on other crossings. Dinihill@gmail.com

Nice route! There is a old trail off the mesa south of the "stripped monster", it's way easier.

I am a big fan of the Roman Dial fold. Lets you fit your boat flat in the bottom of your pack. Looking forward to hearing about your trip down Dark Canyon!
