First trip in to the Eagle Cap Wilderness

Ah, I see some other videos on your YouTube channel I need to watch too. I really don't know much about Idaho north of Sawtooths / WhiteClouds, aside from a little bit of the Frank (BHC & Salmon River). I hear you've got some really nice cedar forests up there in north Idaho...

First trip in to the Eagle Cap Wilderness

Good route. I haven't watched your video yet, but I've been to much of your route so I know it will be fantastic. Eagle Cap is one of those [relatively] unknown gems that impressed the hell out of me. The locals know about it, but aside from weekends I think it's still kind of a secret. We...

    Citico Creek Wilderness (TN)

That is a serious dayhike - especially in the humidity. I chuckle whenever people say there is no challenging trail elevation climbing out east.... Remember, snakes eat the mice. I had a mouse chew a huge hole through my tent a year or two back. Personally, I think snakes are beautiful...

Red Castle vs Cirque of the Towers vs Titcomb

oh, and while I would choose either of your Wind River trips (or any of about 5 other Winds routes of similar mileage) over the Uintas any day, the amount of horrible road time needed to get to Pinedale or Big Sandy (etc) through that horrible stretch of horrible Wyoming for that few days on the...

Red Castle vs Cirque of the Towers vs Titcomb

On that Cirque - LizardHead - Cathedral route. There are about 3 routes I am aware of from Lizard Head plateau down into Cathedral/Cooks basins. I don't think your route is one of those, but that's not saying it can't be done. I know of a few people who go through that valley just north of...

    Guess the spot: Maps Edition

I too had poked around in Idaho and Oregon a bit, with the idea of it being a popular river run. It seems that double-bridge should be a giveaway, but I just can't place it.

Guess the Spot: Eastern US Edition

LOL, I'm fairly certain I have been at that waterfall. :) Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of spare time to look up names or confirm trailheads. I'll let someone else get this one.

Ha, wait - I think I know. Nope, wrong again. Crap.

    Guess the spot: Maps Edition

That vaguely reminds me of the ski resort place just barely northeast of Rainier, in the Norse Peak wilderness. PCT runs by it, just to the east. Not quite right, but the topography looks similar. Gonna go look there..... Yeah, never mind. That's not right at all.

Foster Falls and the Fiery Gizzard Trail

Nice photos! I've been there many times.... 2 of my grandkids (and their parents) live just a few miles away, so when we are up there visiting, this is one of our favorite dayhike locations.

    Colorado or Oregon?

OMG, no contest: PacNW, hands down. (Especially Washington from Snoq Pass, north.) Thus, Portland. Great city. Don't get me wrong, Colorado is great, but for backpacking Colorado's mountains wouldn't even make my top 5 western states. For me, Washington would be #1, Mont / Wyoming battling...

    Deer Creek into the Thorofare

Thanks for this photo, Joey. That does look amazing! I've been poking around topo maps of the Washakie/Teton wildernesses quite a bit for the past couple of months. Trying to devise some routes for 2020 or 2021 (hopefully). Because I am a big fan of sheer verticality (think Glacier NP...

Brooks Lake area to Younts Peak via the Continental Divide

Wow. How did I miss seeing this thread before?!? For a while now, I have been in awe of @Kmatjhwy 's narrative description of this region, not to mention her photos at her other site. (and I have been amazed at the locations of those photos, realizing how incredibly far any of those are from...

FL hiker who travels to Teton Wilderness area frequently.

A belated welcome. That is one area I have very little familiarity with. But I know there are about 3-4 others here who seem to spend significant time in Teton/Washakie wildernesses.

I know I have seen that one before. Need to look through my photo collection.

Guess the Spot: Eastern US Edition

For an amazing, mind-blowing video on that place, search out the Seneca Rocks vid by Bernard Chen, callled 'The Rocks Cry Out'. I don't have that many photos of the eastern US accessible at the moment, but here's one I took a while ago.

Guess the Spot: Eastern US Edition

Is that Seneca Rocks in WV? I've never been there, but saw some crazy video footage of it. I've been super close by though, did not know what I was missing nearby.....

Guess the Spot: Eastern US Edition

That's gotta be the Cumberland plateau of eastern Tennessee. My first guess would be somewhere in Savage Gulf. But I suppose I need to be more specific, since that is a somewhat large area. (And if it's not Savage Gulf, then I have about 3 other next guesses lined up.)

    Guess the spot

That looks a bit like Pingora Peak.... but the other mountains behind it don't look right. There are lots of 'cones' shaped like that in that area of the Winds. Let me try to get a bead on the other peaks in the background.... EDIT: Yeah, that's definitely not it. After looking at my...
