Nick besides the incredible view from your house I have often admired your deck. I remember seeing pictures when you were building it. What decking material and color did you choose when building it? What railing system did you use? Are the balusters iron? I am thinking of replacing my deck soon.

Like Nick we also found the Bird and Hike.com site very helpful: https://www.birdandhike.com/Areas/GoldButte_Area/_gb_area.htm We even downloaded some of the GPS Waypoint (*.gpx) files from Jim Boone's hikes into our Gaia GPS. They are on the last page of each hike description. Very cool area.

Besides doing the cool stuff on Nick's TR I am considering dayhikes down Tuckup Canyon to Shaman's Gallery and/or the Lava Falls Trail. The Lava Falls trail sounds a little sketchy. Any advice about these trails or other trails/sites in the area?
