Been out working for a while but managed to get out to explore a little bit in May. Course up here the May long means snow... and this year didn't disappoint!
I am just starting the same evaluation. Course I’m 6’5” so I’ve sorta resorted to the fact I won’t be sleeping much in the cars I look at. I’m getting rid of my Mazdadon (2014 Cx5) which is a wonderful drive but need more space for the family when we travel together, and need a bit more guts to...
Oh wow that is one heck of a trip! That second last picture for me would have made the whole trip worth it, alpine meadow at sunset/sunrise with a meandering stream, just perfect!
Gorgeous looking trip, never been down that area so it's all so foreign to me. So striking tho and soo much potential for not just hiking it looks like but photographically speaking. I dream of a trip down there hehe
I should have been a bit more explicit, you're right. I'd agree that the mountain and alpine areas are near normal or over normal in some areas, but it's weird that foothills out and edges of the ranges seem less than previous years or at least earlier cleared than past years. Heading out to...

In case anyone is interested, here are the 2 film results from the shots described above. Both were taken on bw film with a red contrast filter!
Mt. Galwey after sunrise with dappled light
Waterton Lake and Vimy Peak looking towards Montana boarder

Here's my first trip report since rejoining. It's not a huge trip and I did get caught with some early season snow packs that put a hard damper in the slog going forward.
I left Calgary at 4:45am an got on the highway for the 3hr drive to the trailhead on the east edge of Waterton National...
I only carry 4 shots when hiking actually soooo it really focuses things down hehe. But yea I usually have my dark bag at camp and will change film there. So I’ll bring 1 or 2 empty boxes for bw and colour neg and then take the 2 film holders out. I do develop at home for at least my bw and...
Thanks! Yea I switched back to film in 2018 with a few different medium format bodies that were great fun and a lot more challenging to my process (in a good way). Then last year when the lockdown hit I lucked out and got a great deal on a Chamonix 45f-2. So I only carry 2 lenses in the long...
