    Bag Night Challenge 2016

I was at Big Bend National Park the week before. What was your itinerary? I was able to knock out the Outer Mountain Loop.

    Stuff, roll, or fold

I fold it until its the length of the poles and then roll it. It's the method I use in the field and when I'm at home.

What's on your gear wish list?

I would love a Big Agnes Scout Tent. I know its not gonna happen, but maybe I can piece together gift cards and an REI dividend.

    Belize

I've never personally been so this is all second hand knowledge, but my cousin has been to Belize multiple times for college and his masters. He has never had an issue with safety or getting around by car. I hope that helped a little even though its not exactly what you are looking for.

    Panthertown Valley, NC

It looks like a pretty place to visit even with all the extra hikers. Make sure to post the new trips to isolated places as well.

    GoLite GoesBankrupt

I've actually never seen Shark Tank and everything I know about it, I learned from Tosh.0. You are right about making light weight gear. I'm sure its relatively easy as there are many DIY'ers out there making similar gear. What I appreciate about GoLite is that they were pushing lighter gear...

    Any mountain bikers out there?

I'm not in your area, but I try and get out for a bike ride on the trails at least twice a week. If I'm lucky I can get a third ride in on an evening night. Night rides bring a whole new level of intensity.

    GoLite GoesBankrupt

While GoLite isn't my go to brand, I do like a lot of their products. I hope they can pull through and reorganize successfully. I would hate to see a light weight gear maker go under.

    What beer you drinking?

Right now I am drinking Chili Beer. It is pretty much Tecate (pale lager), but has a chili pepper add for extra kick. I am a big fan spicy beers.

    Trip Report: Goodwater Loop, Tx

I haven't been able to do kayak much here. There aren't any inland paddle trails near me. Plus, I have a short creek kayak, so I'd have a rough go in the bays or gulf. I have been considering trading in my current kayak for a longer bay version.

    Trip Report: Goodwater Loop, Tx

Thanks for the kind words everyone. Texas does have a few nice places to visit so check it out when you get the chance. BeeGee sure did give me a scare for a bit. I was just glad she didn't actually have a flipped stomach.

A Drive Around the San Juan's

Those are some amazing pictures. My Jeep has been in the shop so long, and seeing this makes me want it back. I cannot wait to hit the back roads for a scenic drive.

    drainage ditch kayaking

I've got canals behind my house and I've considered throwing the kayak in on more than 1 occasion. However, it would be no where near as intense as the video. At least until I hit a tunnel for a road crossing.

    Water Filters

I have the Sawyer Squeeze (the full sized version). It has worked well for me and I've used it in the swamps of Eastern North Carolina. The mini is a little lighter but has the same size filter (0.1 Microns absolute). The only issue is having to squeeze to get rapid filtration, and it can...

Thank you both for the advice. It looks like first and foremost I have to do a little more research and get out there and just take pictures.

    Photography Help

So I have been looking through the website and so many people have posted such great pictures. I am looking for tips/insight on how or what I can do to take better photos. I have a pretty basic setup to work with, a Cannon PowerShot SD4000 and my Galaxy S4. Any advice is much appreciated.
