Looking for some suggestions. Wanting to go backpacking mid September, but I haven’t been for YEARS, and I’ll also be going with someone who has never been before. What are some easier 1-2 night backpacking trips? Looking at some in the uintas, but I’m afraid it may be too cold by that...
Hey Everyone,
I am looking for a quick weekend getaway Dec 21-23. We are thinking of doing Bryce Canyon or maybe even Zion, but would be up for any suggestions. Just looking to go somewhere that has some easy-moderate trails that are accessible in the winter. We have never snowshoe'd before...
Hey everyone!
Me and a friend are looking for a short, overnight backpacking trip to get away from the city this weekend. We live in Salt Lake City and are willing to drive up to 4 hours away to go somewhere. Any suggestions?
Also, my friend was thinking Pleasant Creek?? but we cant find...
Hey guys. I'm thinking of heading down to the red well trailhead tomorrow just for a quick overnight stay. However, I'm a little concerned on how cold it may be. My sleeping bag is rated at 35 degrees and the weather in escalante is only showing a high of 68 tomorrow with a low of 40 degrees. Am...
We are only going to be on the river for 3 days. Drop off at 10am on Friday morning and pickup at 5:00pm on Sunday night. I figured we may have to split the group up if we have issues finding a site. Thanks for your help guys! I think I'll googlemap it and purchase that map as well. Better safe...
I have a group of 12-14 that are floating the green river from ruby ranch to mineral bottom. We were planning for the first week in may but are worried that we may have issues finding camping spots during that time of year and with that big of a group. Has anyone floated this section during that...
Looking to do a overnight backpacking trip in the Uintas tomorrow, but a little worried about the weather. Can anyone with more experience tell me whether we should skip heading there this weekend? Also...any suggestions on a good overnighter?
Thanks everyone! :) I think we might just play it safe and get a site at Escalante RV Park. I just would hate to get all the way there, only to not be able to find a spot.
Hey guys! I have been itching to see the grand staircase since I have never been, so I was thinking of heading up that way for Memorial Day weekend. My parents would like to join as well. They are older, so they want to take their 30ft, 5th wheel trailer. They don't care about having hook ups...
We ended up going to Pittsburgh lake. The drive to the trailhead was way more intense than I thought it would be! They are not joking when they say you need a high clearance vehicle and 4 wheel drive just to get to the trailhead. And the hike itself was very strenuous! I was not prepared for how...
Just my luck right there, haha. I'm willing to drive anywhere within a 2 hour drive. Is there anything within 2 hours from SLC area that would be a good idea?
Thanks! It's her first backpacking trip, so she is a little scared. Any suggestions on where to take her? Looking for somewhere not super difficult to get to backpack to...and somewhere that isn't going to be insanely crowded with people would be good also.
I've been planning a backpacking trip to the uintas for this weekend, but my sister is scared that it's going to be freezing cold and we will get rained on the whole time. Every weather website is different for the forecast....so I don't know what to think! Good idea...or bad idea for a 2 day...
We wanted somewhere close that we could backpack to and stay over night, so we decided on Lake Blanche. The night before leaving we ended up deciding to just hike up there without staying the night due to everyone's concern on how much snow would be up there still. The hike up wasn't too...
Well there was most definitely still snow up there, but it was beautiful! Going back down in the snow was a little difficult, but we managed to make it out alive with no injuries :) haha. We didn't end up staying the night, but we will definitely be returning for a night stay once it warms up.
