All in all I've been doing well. My wife has been dealing with some health issues but I guess that's part of the process when you've reached senior citizen status. Both of us have lost a parent during the last couple years too. I've made a few car camping type trips since Covid and have thought...
Some more migrating birds
Eagles seem to follow the Snow Geese
Some Mallards. In the second photo there is a Northern Pintail (bird with a vertical white stripe on its neck) hanging out with the Mallards. The Pintail is a new bird to me.
Common Mergansers. Not so common to me. I have never...
Snow Geese have been migrating through. I made some videos last year and this year and made a compilation. The videos were all made at Lake Wanahoo near Wahoo, Nebraska
I feel like anything I say would just be echoing everyone else; great trip, not to be repeated, ominous weather, concern about hypothermia. I have been looking forward to your report because I've been curious about your new canoe. Thanks for discussing that. Looks intriguing. Thanks for posting...
I've been wondering about your canoe. Any updates? I'm a couple years out from retirement and I've been thinking about (epic) things I might do in retirement. I've been married almost as long as you have been and I think I might risking divorce too if I bought a canoe, but a guy can dream right...
Getting older sucks. I sympathize. Glad to read that surgery went well and recovery is progressing well. Hope the Sierra trip is wonderful and without problems.
I've been trying to do some astrophotography - such as it is.
I was trying to catch Jupiter, Mercury, and Saturn in the sky at the same time. Unfortunately Saturn had set by the time it was dark enough for me to spot the other two. Mercury is on the left. Taken from the top of a parking garage...
I went out to get a photo of this old abandoned Catholic church out in a field in Colfax County, Nebraska before it was to be torn down. Didn't make it before the cross was removed. Parked out in the field about a hundred yards away to illuminate with the headlights.
Congratulations on the show.
I would sure love to make it out to Grand Gulch someday. Maybe after I retire. Hopefully I will still be able to do the hiking. Enjoyed your pictures.
