Bob Marshall Wilderness, Montana, July / August, 2023, part 2 of 3

Part II did not disappoint. With your descriptive writing, I felt like I was right there with you. I even had to get up and get a drink of H20 as you were concerned about your water situation. :) Good thing that you ran into Tad and Devan. Looking forward to part III.

    Did Photo Posting Parameters Change?

I've noticed this issue too. With my larger sensor cameras I've always had to resize before uploading an image, but my older point and shoot ones, I could just upload the full sized image since they are not that big to begin with. Now I am having to resize those images too.

Thwarted at 18 this past weekend Skipper. Might be a rain this coming weekend. I think I am back in the trouble zone for this ride. So as I have mentioned before, I took the tandem down to a local bike shop to have it tuned up back in February as it has just been sitting for the...

Fantastic report. Looking forward to the next part. I spent my first 14 years in Asheville, just off of Merrimon Avenue, before my family moved out west. I still miss Asheville.

    What's Cooking?

Getting to that time of year when I put the Dutch oven away, but before I do, tonight's meal is called Campfire Dutch Oven Corn Bread Chili. Of course, I'll be using my stovetop and not an open campfire. I have never made this recipe before, so it should be interesting. The recipe is as...

YNP: Morning Falls north/upstream from Scout/Ouzel pool near Union falls

It is mentioned in the book, along with a short history (if you can call it that) of the falls. While not specific, it does say a couple rangers picked up a well worn trail to it, but that was back in 1969.

Supposed to do 45 miles this weekend on the tandem, but we only completed 18. :( The reason you ask? A flat tire! And I'm too embarrassed to tell you all why I couldn't fix the flat. Maybe if @Rockskipper twists my arm, I'll tell it. All fired up and ready to go! Yet again...

    Yellowstone Mirror Plateau Trip Plan/Advice

Looks like you forgot the Scatman coefficient for the distance between 5P7 to 3O1, which would put it at about 10.5 miles. Hehehe. :D

    Yellowstone Mirror Plateau Trip Plan/Advice

Hi Ashleigh, I can't answer your first question, though you can expect some off-official-trail travel between 5P7 and 3O1. There is an unofficial trail that leads to 5P7 in the direction you are heading if you can pick it up. Here is a map of some GPS points I recorded while hiking along it...

Sawtooth Mountains ........... Get ready for summer

Some indication that a few have wandered into the Frank Church and Bitterroot areas. Given time and on their own accord they could reach the Sawtooths at some point.

All of this looks delicious. I may need to hire you for my next car camping trip. You do know that circus peanuts make the meal? :D

Sawtooth Mountains ........... Get ready for summer

Are there grizzlies in the Sawtooths? You could lie to me and say that there are to get me to go. Of course, we could snag a few from the GYE and transport them over to the Tooths. The Sube might be able to hold a couple sub-adults. :) I thought you might be posting this as a warning as to...

    I call it the Rain Bird. It goes something like this - cht, cht, cht, cht, cht, cht . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . I go in crircles until I can build up a good sweat. Have @Rockskipper tell you the bikini story sometime.

We need to stop this senseless training now. How in the world am I supposed to keep up with you come August? I see Mrs. Tractorcdoc has better balancing skills than the Scatman. Great shots and thanks for sharing.
