Nice photos and TR - this is my old stomping ground for sure. Grew up in Mt. Pleasant - remember when you could got to Maple and rock a kegger any day of the week(or weekend) and not see anyone but your buddies. crazy how much that place has changed.
While looking up a certain canyon in the Cedar Mesa area - following Nick's post with interest - I found the following statement "...canyon was not raped and pillaged by Richard Wetherill and other pot hunters in the late 1800's." I'm interested in this community's opinion of the early...

just did this yesterday - lots of people of the river. put in at Henefer, rode to the lower Morgan take out. was a beautiful day for it - water was perfect.

whoops - sorry if I came off rude - didn't mean to. I just have had this recommendation in my head for the past few days, and haven't had a change to make it till now. All the above recommendations I'd agree with - except for shelf canyon - cause I haven't been there, and would love to go...

man - this does blow. camping with a 1 year old sans fire just means going to bed early. Not a big fan. State agencies need to pull their head out - looks like somewhere around 80% of fires this year have been started by shooting - time to put a stop to the stupidity and not screw the campers.
I'm a big fan of the cairn, and think you could rock it solo - no box - on a number of items. Simple, understated, earthtone designes - that's my recommendation.
