Yes, we were coming from the eastern Highline trail head at hwy 191 and were making our way to Mirror Lake highway. We had to cut it short though and exit at Henry's Fork due to being a couple of days behind scheduled and low on provisions.

the heavy rain about two weeks ago left many of the pools and ponds in East Zion filled with water. I went on a cross -country hike to some of the lesser known side drainages and found a lot of wonderful reflections. It almost reminded me of the Many Pools hike.

Been wanting to get out there this month! How were the birds?

Been wanting to get out there this month! How were the birds?

The red wing and yellow headed blackbirds are singing it up. The waterfowl are gathering. Only a handful of my favorite white pelicans though. Love watching them gliding over the water.

The river is over flowing in quite a few places: crossing the road in one stretch.
