Palmer Loop, Section 16

Got to check out one o f the very popular loop hikes on edge of Colorado Springs. The Palmer Loop is in Section 16 and intersects many other trails making the combination endless. I did the most popular 5.5 mile loop. Most of the trail reports advise doing the loop backwards, so I did. It starts of with some switchbacks in the canyon, leading eventually to a pine forest where to continue to climb. After about 2 miles you top out with some fantastic views and then slowly descend for the next 3.5 looping back around. It was low 40's by the time I hit the trail and sunny. The shady spots were still plenty chilly but it was a great hike.

Thanks for sharing again, love the Springs. Buddy said it's supposed to be in the 70s there now? Gotta love it, get out there more.
