How long in Lake Bled?

We are booked on a RS Adriatic tour in May and trying to set up hotels before and after the tour. We were thinking of spending some time in Lake Bled before our RS tour starts in Ljubljana. We were considering spending two nights in Lake Bled, taking a taxi from Ljubljana airport after we arrive late in the day and then spending that night and next night there- so one full day there in practical terms. We understand that the airport is halfway between Ljubljana and Lake Bled.

Does this sound like a good use of our time? We could also take a day trip to Lake Bled from Ljubljana but we thought it might be nice to spend a little bit more time in Lake Bled seeing the town and hiking...?

I don't think you can go wrong with the Julian Alps and the scenery around Lake Bled. In Oct 2014 I rented a car at the airport, and stayed for a week in an apartment ~35 min NW of there in Kranjska Gora. At the time it wasn't a heavy tourist town, like Bled. I did day hikes in/on Triglav, on Magart, Mojstrovka, on peaks just over the border in Italy, before moving on to the Dolomites. It was one of my favorite European trips.

The driving around there is mostly along rural roads, and allows you to stop to visit at any of the numerous cultural and historical sites along the way. The one thing that could be a consideration for hikes and higher elevation roads is any lingering snowpack.
