I recently sent in a fleece jacket to TNF for repair. They sent back a letter saying that it was fake. I then went through and checked my other TNF gear and found signs of other fakes. The most common was anything with Summit Series on it.
I buy a lot of second hand stuff to save money. I assume that others do the same. I just wanted to get the word out. The North Face Guru has an ok site that can help ID fake stuff before you buy it. Bottom line, I will never buy TNF gear second hand, from eBay, or no-name website. About 75% ended up being really good fakes. And 100% of Summit Series and windstopper jackets were fake.
