Dunked my DSLR in water

Ouch. I think it's a goner, I didn't act quick enough to turn it off and take the battery out. It was in water for maybe a second or less, just rolled on its side and went in few inches of water, enough to drown major portion of the camera. I took the battery out after a bit, didn't have proper stuff to dry the camera out, so just took it apart and let it dry for few mins. Put it back together, came home and looking at it condensation in the lens, expected. I wiped inside of it with a camera cleaner cloth, but this is after 3/4 hours from the incident. I took out the sd card and pics were there, so that survived.
Had been holed in watching the world cup, took today to explore some uintas lakes and hiking with dogs, caught a nice cutty, then this happens.
Anything else I should be doing trying to revive this?

Put it in a bag with white rice covering it for a few days. Take apart as much as you can..... pray. Did this to my phone when it was in my pocket fording Mt Ash creek in Yellowstone...actually worked

White rice is good advice. I dumped mine a few years back and miraculously Canon repaired under warranty. Just don't tell them it got wet and they might not realize it. :) I've got a link around here somewhere explaining my story.

My Canon T2i survived a dunking. It took days to entirely dry out, even disassembled. The lens still has water spots on the internal elements. Give it time and surround it with a good desiccant.

Thanks for all the advice. Started the 'rice treatment' last night, let it be for few days and we will see. @Nick so sounds like I just need to wait it out, get it as dry as possible and if it still doesn't fire up, send it back to Canon and pray.

Yep. Just don't say a word about liquid. :)

Took out the camera last friday, and it didn't fire up. :(
The battery seems to have survived and I was able to charge it, but the circuit board in the camera looks like hosed. The camera is almost 3 years old, so no luck with warranty, I didn't bother to contact Canon even.

I second the rice. My Canon t1i got drenched in by an ocean wave and I short-circuited the main board by trying to turn it on right afterward. I put it in a bag of rice for 48 hours. My camera survived, but I had to get the main board rewired ($350, which was still less than the value of the camera at the time). It still works. :D

Ya for me $350 is getting pretty close to value of the camera itself, (t3i body that's 3 years old)

Salt water is way worse than fresh water....more minerals help short things out.

I forgot and left the FOB for my car in my pocket. Had no spare with me. It was drenched but still worked. To be on the safe side I put it in rice overnight. If my Canon went in the drink I would be horrified.
