Bag night #11, First solo back pack and in bear country! Hiked in 6 miles on the Navigation trail (USFS #291) on upper Priest River, Idaho. Had beautiful weather and the closest I got to a bear was some scat.

3 Nights: Northern Vermont (Smugglers Notch State Park): 5/27-5/30

car camping with wife + forecast for rain = bring the big tarps... Ended up not raining anyways

Notice we bring a 3rd camp chair for our dog to lay around the fire ring.

June 5th in Dixie national forest above Boulder, UT. Car camping
June 6-7th in Death Hollow.

Probably the coolest backpacking trip ever! Thanks to @Nick for suggesting it. I had the entire Canyon to myself, didn't see a soul for over 2 days, only saw a nice couple near the confluence of the Escalante River on the last day. Blew my already high expectations out of the water.

Sorry, won't be for a while. Currently on a journey of a lifetime. BTW, every night from now until the end of September is a bag night. Is there a better way to keep track of them for the purposes of this forum?? Lol

Whoa! That's nuts.. You're dabbling in that gray area between backpacking and homelessness lol. Seriously though, you should be keeping a journal, not for BCP but for yourself. For us, I think it would be cool if you started your own thread that you can update periodically so we can keep track of what you're up to. When @Ben was on a multi-month trip last year it was pretty cool whenever he checked in and gave us an update. Good luck and stay safe. Can't wait to hear about it.

Chasing the Aurora but it didn't happen Saturday night. Probably could have seen it Sunday night it was strong enough for spots in Oregon and Montana. But I had work Monday.
