Does anyone know anywhere locally that you can rent a spot from? In past years I have rented it from sky call satellite, but they no longer offer them.
Thanks
Are you talking the water filled one right by little dam (the diversion station where they pump the water into the reservoir?) As kids we once tried to siphon drain that and explore it but that never worked. Without scuba equipment you can't go then a few more feet in.
This was also my backyard growing up to. There is also a bigger waterfall up there. Maybe 20'? As of a year ago there was also a rope swing that was fun to play on.
Does anyone know if this campground fills midweek? I called down to Zion and they said its not regularly monitored but they expected it to fill on weekends, but midweek would probably be fine. I'm planning a Subway trip next month and thought this would be a good spot to camp. I wouldn't be...
Went out to the Spiral Jetty today. The road is in great shape, passenger car passable all the way to the end. The water is really low, but it's still cool.
I have 4 kids, 9-2. They are decent hikers if you have lots of treats. As Nick Mentioned Goblin Valley is their favorite place, depending on the day its better than Disneyland. Arches is also on the edge of your range, but my kids love that. Sand Dune arch is a must.
My kids have gotten into...
That last pictograph from the Book Cliffs is great. How large was it?
I've been out to what you call the Skeleton Shaman before, but always seen it referred to as the Head of Sinbad. Where did your name come from?
Seems annually I get down to Cedar Mesa and check out a few more sites each time. This past fall I went to the Lewis Lodge ruins.
While it was really cool, and the location was awesome, I was struck by how sterile the location was. Usually there is pottery sherds, metate and mano stones, rock...
Haha. Awesome. Watched the episode last night on Netflix and was laughing at the over the top drama. 300 yards from the highway!? Had to bail a day early with a 1.2 mile hike. Haha. Good thing they muted the sounds of the highway. A passing semi would really spoil the whole wilderness thing...
I've been there, probably go back again at some point. I thought it was pretty cool. Not sure I would make it a day destination, but not a bad visit if you're in the area, paired with Golden Spike National Historic Site makes a fun day.
Its really other worldly out there. Remote, the salt...
I have been watching the water levels too dreaming about this. @ashergrey where is your chart from? I have been watching here: http://lakepowell.water-data.com/
Would love to be involved if something gets put together. I'll wait and watch intently. Hoping for a decent spring runoff, but if...
