    A Little Bit of Bisti

I was there a year and a half ago. Didn't cover as much territory as I wanted. Hopefully another time soon. http://backcountrypost.com/threads/bisti-badlands-3-2015.4480/ I will caution anyone heading there to be aware that if there's been recent rains, some of the roads WILL BE (not MAY...

    Album The dogs of backcountrypost.com

Thanks everyone for all your thoughts and condolences. It's been almost a month now. My twice daily hikes are still at zero. Weather has some bearings on it I would hope. At least I don't get emotional anymore talking about her. An old proverb (mine maybe).... "it too shall pass" I still...

    Album The dogs of backcountrypost.com

June 8, 2015 Today I said goodbye and lost my best friend. I'm so confused with emotions. For 5 years we hiked almost every day. Many times twice a day. Not your leisurely walk around the block. Most was cross-country two plus milers. East Creek, Little Park Road areas (GJ). But before...

    Album Trees

Nope @langutah... it's in a non-trail area about 10 miles south of Grand Junction where I cross country hike with my dog. I try and stay in drainages so she can find water.

    Bisti Badlands 3/2015

Originally I was thinking a minimum of 2 days. But next time I go I'm planning on 3 days. Some of the hikes are 8+ miles. Be aware that if any rain has occurred, don't even think about going until the roads are dry.

    Bisti Badlands 3/2015

I've been unable to do much for over a month with a severely pulled hamstring which has left my entire leg down to my toes black and blue. Doc said it would be good to keep moving as opposed to just laying around with my leg elevated. And as long as I kept dosed up with Naproxin and / or...

    Poll: BCP Dark & Light?

I've always had trouble reading books. Something about the font or print size I thought. When e-books came out, I played around with changing the background colors just for fun and found that I could read /comprehend so much better with the white on black. I think it's my dyslexia thing. I...
