Great eclipse photos, everybody! I failed in getting any that I was pleased with, while in SE Utah for the annular eclipse, and it was pretty much a non event here in Calgary with only about 25% of the sun covered. We did watch it while lunching on our deck, using the cheapo gas station eclipse...

The sandhill cranes were off my radar until two encounters last year, when I learned from a birding friend that there are some that summer in southern Alberta, and others that are migrating through on their way north. Might as well throw in a blue hour photo, this one from camp near Escalante:

A couple from an urban ski tour this morning in a local natural area park, after a blast of winter dropped 20 cm's of snow.

At first I thought that I had pretty much the same picture and knew exactly where, but going back to the archives shows something very similar, but not the spot in question. It DOES look very Natural Bridges, though....

I don't have any real idea, but trying to narrow it down a bit- maybe in the Kanab area?

Thunder Mountain and the Bluewater Glacier, last week near Campbell Icefield, B.C. After two winters of lean snowfall combined with hot summers, all those crevasses did not make skiing the glacier appealing at all.

Also curious about that, after seeing the Slickrock Expanse report a while back and looking on Google Earth. There does seem to be potential route.
