On May 22, 2021 I set out on my first ever solo trip. I knew I wanted to get to the Catskills region in NY because I have never been there yet. The Catskills are only about an hours drive south of where I live near Albany, NY. So after much research, I decided on Echo Lake via the Overlook Mt...
The gear is just in case he gets into a real survival situation this way he can whip out his Bear Grylls survival cell phone and call 911...
As to the petition, lets get it started and where do I sign???
wonder if I might have a chance to see them out here in upstate NY, but with all the city light around, I am doubting it... I got to see the Northern lights when I was stationed in Norway a hundred miles south of the arctic circle back in 1999... it was an awesome experience and I have been...
Now that you have your storage room, you need a staging/packing room with smoker and dehydrator... and like was already mentioned, you dont have nearly enough yet...
The first pic it looked like alot, then in the second, not so much... Looks good though.
I was considering getting this watch http://www.verizonwireless.com/accessories/casio-g-shock-watch/ but price alone kept me away and it does not do half of what I have read here so far and I was thinking that even that was getting a little out of hand for a watch.
The idea of this watch makes...
@TannerT Yea, I agree with you on the distraction bit... that's why I try to keep mine to a minimum, 5 kids, 4 animals, 2 jobs, 2 vehicles, and a wife are more than enough on a regular basis, toss in a hobby or 2 and the smartphone and I can easily become overloaded and blow a vacuum tube....

I was out near the northern side of the Catskills for work on Friday... I just had to take a pic. All I had with me was my Cell phone, but set it to full HD for this shot.
Ok, so while I may have a smartphone, I am not so plugged into it that it runs my life. Simply put, I still have hung onto the basic phone that it replaced. The only reason, really, I still have the smartphone is because I Geocache with it and do not have a dedicated GPS unit yet. In fact...
I have a Kodak DX6490 camera (review : http://www.steves-digicams.com/camera-reviews/kodak/dx6490/kodak-dx6490-review.html#b) I came across this article (http://cameras.reviewed.com/content/digital-camera-review-kodak-easyshare-dx6490) talking about color this and that and was very technical...
I dont take a tripod with me when I go out hiking, geocaching, etc, but I do have one like this http://www.walmart.com/ip/Vivitar-VIV-MPT-150W-41-Tripod-White/27448855 It works ok for me and dont weigh a lot. I have never had the need to get an exact weight on it. When I need a tripod, it...
ok, not "that" far from where I am now... Albany, NY area... you were just a couple hours drive from me... If I could convice the GF, I would head west for a while... I spent a couple months in 29 Palms, CA, but other than that I have been bound to the east coast, mainly the NE, PA and NY.
Yea, but being able to get away from places like the east coast where I am at that is lit up like a christmas tree all the time and get some real darkness helps too.
I have had my Kodak since June of 2004 and never cleaned it, never noticed any sensor dust in any of the pics I have taken with it. But maybe I should have it cleaned to try and extend the life a little bit more.
Now for the serious part of this post... What is sensor dust, how does it come...
You have some amazing shots, better than just about anything I could take here in upstate NY, then again, I am usually strapped to traveling between work, home, and the park with the kids. I need to be more like you and toss responsibity aside every so often to take more time for me...
Keep...
I can only sit here and shake my head in shame that I am in the same gene pool as these people, Just another black eye for those of us that are Homo Sapiens. I need to join another species...
And this is why my Battalion Commander never gave us "free" time when he had the option... LOL, left on our own, we came up with some pretty interesting crap to mess with one another, other braches or demolition derby antics. Always good to have a few friends in on it from the motor pool
