For several years I've lead scouts (14-15 year old) through Arches National Park. It seems to be a place boys like because it gets chosen every year. So I've done all the popular hikes (The trails off the Devils Garden TH, Delicate Arch, the sand box trail or whatever it's called, Cornoa Arch) 5x over - which is okay I love it too.

Having said that, this year (2015) I want to try some new trails.

I've yet to do the Fiery Furnace. Would any of you recommend that hike? Do you feel like the ranger guided trip was necessary or added anything to the experience?

Other trails in or out of the park worth doing?

I have done the Ranger guided Fiery Furnace tour twice.
First time was with a friend and was a great experience. The Ranger gave a lot of information about the creation of the fins, arches, plants and animals.
Second time was with my parents and the Ranger was not very informative. There were some older individuals in our group that should NOT have been on the tour.. Extremely slow going and 1/3 way through the tour one of these individuals started having dizzy spells and felt weak. So that slowed the pace down even more, having to stop every 2 minutes.. We asked if we could go ahead of the group but was told by the Ranger that it was not allowed.
That being said, I still think it would be worth the chance for you to take our scout group on the guided tour. If you have taken the tour, you would have no problem going into Fiery Furnace by yourself next time.

I also enjoyed the hike out to Tower Arch.. Few people.. But it can be hot.

Just what I was looking for, thanks!
