Haha! It was kind of like that. Minus the hallucinogens perhaps. I built a fishing light out of PVC, some AA batteries and some waterproof LEDs. It really brought in the fish at night including some really big cats. Mesmerizing to sit and watch them swim in circles around the light. I'll post some video of it with my TR.

Cool..... would that work for trout? Like in high mountain lakes?

I'm not sure. I built it after seeing a video of the baitfish that swarm it at night and the thought that it would bring in predatory fish to come after them. I looked into it and commercial made ones were $100-$200+ but I don't recall seeing species info other than Crappie. I'm not sure if this actually helped fishing but we did catch some really huge catfish and had a great time watching a school of what I think were shad swirl around it for hours. Total build cost was less than $20 so well worth it.
