Recently retired and working on extensive ticklist of out of state hikes. Wind river range, Bearthooths, Wallowas are first up this season.
Fire season will have a big impact on my decisions. Developed longterm cough during a 50 mileer so will make an effort to avoid fires.
North cascades is my normal stomping ground.

Welcome. Plenty of great and helpful people and information to be found here!

Welcome....

Idaho, Wyoming and Montana..... Aug and Sept summers are usually smokey.... This year is setting up for more fires

Thank you, intend on early july for the Winds.
Planning on Cape Scott on north Vancouver Island when it gets real smokey.
Cape Scott is pretty awesome but be prepared for hordes of people. First time I went there was August of 2001 and we did not see another human. We saw wolves and orcas.......Went 6 years ago and there were well over 300 people camped on the beach where we saw no one back in 2001.
